Caesar's Children

Kari and I have been homeschooling now for many years and through out that time we always have been confronted with the question of why we homeschool. We have been looked at like we were crazy, told we were better parents than them, encouraged to continue and have encouraged others to start their own journey, we have even been told that we were ruining our kids. To say the least, we have met a number of different responses to our decision to homeschool.  A lot of people choose to homeschool for a lot of different reasons. One of the biggest reasons we have chosen to homeschool is because I believe we can simply do a better job of educating our girls. And testing has proved it. They are both well above grade level. 1 on 1 is always going to beat out 20 on 1.

But recently I have been developing another and even deeper reason for homeschooling. Our culture and the public school environment is becoming a breeding ground for liberal thinking and more importantly a completely non biblical worldview. The majority of Christian raised children leave all things spiritual and of God after leaving their parents home. Why is that? I think the following video is very telling.

If you think this not true then take a look at this video show to school children in the public school last week without the knowledge or approval of parents.

This is the type of propaganda that is heading into the school systems and it isn't going to get better. To read the full story on the reaction of parents to this video read here.

In short we homeschool because I don't want to raise Romans. I would encourage anyone that reads this post to seriously consider the options before them. To find out more on homeschooling go to the HSLDA's website, or feel free to contact me.
